Over Introduction to Bookbinding: Coptic BookBindings
Introduction to Bookbinding: Coptic Bindings Open: 18:00–20:00 hrs Welcome to our Workshops at 4bid, a great way to get a first-hand introduction or deepening into the art of bookbinding and printmaking. All of our workshops are taught by practicing artists and craftspeople, in an open and friendly atmosphere. Introduction to Bookbinding is a 4-part series of monthly introductory bookbinding workshops covering: - Pamphlets; Stab Bindings; Concertinas - Single Sheet Binding - Coptic binding - Exposed spine Binding Suitable for complete beginners. You are encouraged, but not required, to take all the workshops in order. Participants will benefit from techniques learned in previous workshops. For a complete beginner, taking all three workshops in order will give you a good foundation in bookbinding. Absolute beginners are more than welcome, and tea and chat is included! Over OT301
OT301 is een zelfbeheerd cultureel centrum op de Overtoom in Amsterdam-West, opgericht na een kraakactie in 1999 en sinds 2006 in handen van de coöperatieve vereniging EHBK. Het pand combineert woningen, werkruimtes en publieke functies onder één dak: de Ventilator cinema/bar, concertstudio's, de vegancafé Gilde, galerieruimte 4Bid en dansstudio's. De programmering loopt uiteen van techno, drum and bass en jungle-nights tot performances, exposities, filmscreenings en workshops. De plek trekt een underground, politiek-bewust publiek en draait volledig not-for-profit.
