Over Círculo Oracle: The Eye of the Night- Public Tarot Reading

This evening, we honor the force of Vungira (known as Pomba Gira), in Brazil an ancient Central African deity intertwined with the imagery of the Roma deity Kali. In many popular representations and rituals, this presence carries the story of Roma women, Povo Cigano, through more than five centuries of migration to Brazil and their continued presence across the globe. They also embody the power of "opening the path," supporting people in walking their trajectories and pursuing their goals in life as well as support with negotiating their future. In Brazil, Roma and Maroon communities shared spaces and collective lands. Theatergroep Munganga komt uit Brazilië. De naam Munganga (uitgesproken: 'moen-gang-gaa') is afgeleid van Mganga — een Afrikaanse stam waarvan de priesters tijdens rituelen grootse, uitbundige gebaren maken. Sinds de oprichting in 1987 geeft Teatro Munganga een hoofdrol aan de visuele taal in haar voorstellingen. Door theater te mengen met muziek, dans en poppenspel toont de groep de poëzie van het alledaagse. Hun voorstellingen behandelen universele thema's, waarin verschillende culturen en hun contrasten de leidraad vormen.
