YEARLY CELEBRATION OF THE BINNENPRET COLLECTIVE – 42 YEARS ALREADY!!! DURING THE DAY YOU CAN FOLLOW WORKSHOPS, SCREEN-PRINT, DRINK A COCKTAIL, GET SOME FOOD AND A HAIRCUT ALL ON THE SQUARE LOCATED IN THE BACK OF OCCII / NEXT TO MKZ. THERE WILL ALSO BE FUN ACTIVITIES FOR THE LITTLE ONES. In the evening we celebrate in OCCII. Doors open at 20:00. Partially rough-edged, partially intricate, &The weave songs with toil and care, like a sturdy and comforting hug or a playfight with your best mate. On upcoming album Sunchoke &The show their versatility with slow, sad songs and fast, raw and rhythmic songs to bop to. Further showcased by their inventive choice in covers (At The Drive-In, Sonny Sharrock, Ecco2K) and the way they remake these songs totally anew. Even having surprising remixes on this album by Burchhhha (from Supermarkt and Mxchxxl) and Maeve Chustar. &The is brimming with a colorful, creative energy. It's the combination that gives the album its character: not cuddles or teeth, but both at the same time. OCCII is een zelfbeheerd podium in Amsterdam-Zuid, al decennialang een vaste plek voor underground muziek buiten de commerciële circuits. De programmering draait om punk, hardcore, post-punk, experimentele muziek en avant-garde, met regelmatig internationale acts naast lokale bands.
